Yep...

Yes, indeed. I certainly did. Burned that bad boy up in the dishwasher.

I feel your pain. I remember hosting my first Thanksgiving dinner for 25+ people. I obsessed about everything, ever replacing my old broken in pot holders. I was channeling my inner Martha Stewart and insisted on buying $20 pot holders from Williams Sonoma why because they matched my kitchen. What did I do before anyone could see my beautiful expensive matching pot holders? Well I put them on top of my stove which of course had lit burners and set them on fire plus set off my smoke alarms. My family to this day doesn't let me live it down that I not only burned them but spent that much on them because they matched my kitchen colors. Of course not my worst kitchen blunder that of course came the first time I had my monster in law over to dinner. Martha Stewart I'm not lol

Ouch! Sounds very much like something I would do! haha I have a set of vintage canisters from the 50's - sat the lid to one on a hot burner. Dead serious: It looks like a clown face now, with the handle as a nose, and I'm planning to hang it on the wall once I find the right spot.
